Fished both days with good results. They seemed unusually selective though. Color seemed to matter but preferences seemed to shift. Plenty cold out there.

I was out on Monday monring with a friend and our two daughters. It wasn't prolific but everyone caught a few and the girls had a lot of fun.

Bill - Thanks for the report. What time did you catch most of your fish? I'm thinking due to the chilly weather that the afternoon bite (warmer water) might be better than the early morning bite (cooler water).

I tend to fish midday Howard, mostly because I hate traffic. I went today too and it was about the same - pretty good. The water level was way down from yesterday and clarity was about the same = OK. It looks like the fair weather fishermen should do well the next few days.

Yesterday the forecast conditions for tomorrow were predicted to go over 5 feet. As I look at it now, it's supposed to stay stable.

Well, that's why I fished it this morning in the rain. I rented a boat and somehow got beat out there by two other boats but I think they were regulars. Duncan was up river and someone else was down river. "catfish" fishing. Which btw are HUGE this year.

I caught a shad on the first cast but it was slow for the most part. First cast curse. In a couple hours I managed about a dozen but also switched things up a bit. All in all, it was a great morning. Wow does that change your perspective for the rest of the day. I've got a skip in my walk and high spirited like I was over dosing on Prozac. Nothing like starting the day off right with a few shad on the fly rod.

Clarity was great. Cormorants everywhere. At one point there must have been 20 cormorants clustered in a 50 foot radius near the mouth of fletcher’s creek.
