Amy and I took the boat down to Huntington Park and launched there. Since I had not been out in mt boat in a while I wanted to check it out. The boat ran okay so we ran up the river near the Lions Bridge to see if any croaker were there yet. We only tried about 40 minutes but we caught a few. Amy caught the first one and the biggest. I might be rounding the corner with her, she asked several times if it was a citation.

thats good to know...was thinking of taking my daughter out Sunday. They havent been in Saltwater yet and don't think they will have the patience for flattie fishing

Usually when the first croakers are caught on a hook, the first big redfish are also caught. I aint gonna get up in the James anytime soon, but I might get out on the shoals one night this week. Good to know. Thanx

Wes,
Thanks for the report. Glad Amy is "coming around the corner." I might take your lead and try some croaker fishing with Debbie.
This time last year we fished up on Mulberry and caught some very nice puppy black drum up to 6lbs. I'm going to give them a shot here pretty soon.
