Got up early and crew was my brother, Jason and two of his buddys(Ted and Wayne). It was Ted and Wayne's first togging trip. We left early and the tog bite was slow but steady. We ended catching our limit (20 fish) after moving around a bit. The fish were on the larger side with all but three going over six pounds. Ted and Wayne both did great but Ted snapped his two lucky rods on snags. Good day on the water.

They broke from the combination of 65lb power pro, a calcutta 400, heavy structure, an inexpensive rod and a hellatious bend. It was pretty damn funny. Both rods history in a matter of 15 mins. Thanks for another fun trip guys. Im already hoping to go next saturday. I hope you guys are all in.

Thats the bad thing with braid. People tend to use way higher test than the rod/reel are rated for. On the bright side, he gets to go shopping for new rods. Glad you got some newbies into togging. :rockingreport:

Perfect match for that 400 calcutta. Great all around setup.

One can buy that same rod at Bishop's Bait & Tackle, on Route 17 in Yorktown for a lot less than online.
