Smallmouth on the James

i live around western Henrico and have been trying to go down to the river fairly close for some smallmouth action, hopefully some on fly as well. any suggestions of where to go and how to fish the area?

Your best bet is the James River Park area between the Bouldvard Bridge and Lee Bridge on the south side of the river. Three access points along Riverside Drive. If you're canoeing or kayaking, put in at Reedy Creek behind Forest Hill Park.
