:fishing2:3 Questions on TOG fishing. 1.) What tide do you TOG fish or does it make any difference? 2.) At the CBBT do you tie up to the pilings while fishing for TOG? At CBBT how much weight do you use? I have heard either 2/0 or 4/0 circle hook. Sound about right. One better than the other. That's 4 questions.

Going to try to fish for them on Tuesday 4/28. I will be in CC 21 wellcraft - "Miss Nancy"

While I have caught some tog over the years I am by no means an expert. I did, however stay at a holiday inn express. . . .

At slack tide togs move around. Serious tog fishermen want to be anchored up just before tide stops.

Technically it is illegal to tie to the pilings at CBBT but people do it on a regular basis. You frequently hear of MPOs or VB MP telling you that you can't and giving warnings. Sometimes they will give you a ticket, I don't know what the fine is. If they catch you twice in the same day or two weeks in a row you most certainly will get a ticket. Lots of guys will anchor up over the tunnels in shallow water less than 30 feet deep. I am the last person to tell you which spot on the CBBT is better than the other.

If you listen to the expert that comes on the Capt. Reese show he says that you want your line to to be like a banjo string so that you can feel the slightsest bite. On the few times a year that I target tog I tend to use heavier weights.

I use a long shank hook but I can't remember the exact size. Medium big is one way to put it.

3/0 OR 4/0 long shank hook, the sharper thr better, weight depends on the current, you need to be able to feel the bottom/rocks/holes on the structure and still feel the togs very lite bite. Bradided line is almost a necessity and try ti fish with youe lins stright up and down.
