Fished with my father yesterday from around 10:30 - 2pm. The water temp ranged from around 56 up to 62° when we left. Visibility was around 2 - 2.5 feet because of all the rain this week. Caught 5 lmb from around 6" up to 20.5", roughly 5lbs. All the fish were caught on crankbaits, mostly a norman crawfish pattern. The lily pads are starting to come up, and that's where the big one came from on a square billed norman. Pulled it through the pads then it stopped. Took a second to figure out if it was a fish or just stuck on the lily pads, but the shake let me know it was a fish.
Once again, the nice weather brought out all the shore fisherman, making it tricky to find open shoreline to fish. There were also about 10 boats on the small lake, so fishing right behind someone else was common. It was a nice day on the lake, even if it was a little slow. I never saw anyone else catch anything, although one of the guys said he caught 16 between him and his buddy.
