Like a lot of folks I grew up fishing fresh water ponds, creeks and rivers.
Over the past few years I've mainly targeted saltwater fish but make time to fish the pond by the house with my 6 year old son every chance I get.
Well this past weekend we had about an hour before we had to get clean up and be somewhere so we headed to our favorite corner of the pond for a quick fishing trip.
Throwing night crawlers and catching 2oz bluegill is the norm.
Well we got a nice surprise.
22" Largemouth (guessing about 5 1/2 pounds). What a thrill for me and my son.
Do yourself a favor and take a kid fish'n.
