went down to the farm pond yesterday to brush up the blind, as always, i took along the trusty bass rod and some rapalas. i musta caught 30 bass from six inches to a couple of hogs @ 4to 6 lbs. all the large ones had red mouths, i mean blood red. what is the cause of this? cold water?

Bass in colder water seem to have this, don't know why? Anyone else

Did they look chafed? Maybe from feeding so heavily for the winter or rooting around on the bottom. Who knows, but I would guess it does have something to do with feeding heavily, just like their tails get red/chafed during the spawn when they're building their beds
