We fished yesterday (Saturday, April 25th). We caught 12 fish and kept 11 of them. The bite wasn't as quick as an August day but it was surprisingly good. What was really surprising was the SIZE of the croakers! Although I didn't weigh or measure any of the fish two of them were well over 2 lbs and at least 18"! That's pretty good for an April afternoon!

We used double-hook bottom rigs with squid. I caught a crab at one point during the day and cut him up for bait too. He produced some good fish.

We fished on the edge in about 25' near #8 (N37 40.259 W76 32.840). We made a run to BEST Marine to check them out and then fished amongst the crab pots near their shore (N37 37.901 W76 32.527). Both these spots produced fish. We moved up to #10 and fished near the Monaskon shore (N37 43.842 W76 34.438) and caught some more good sized croakers.

It was a great day on The Rivah!

Congrats on the day. How tight of a fit is it getting in and out of Greenvale Greek? My cousin lives back there.

That's great.Something happened with my boat in that it cranked but cut off while running the bilge pump and wouldnt crank again. While enroute to the pier occured to me that we could have trailered it to BESTS and had it checked out.Meantime caught only a sunburn at the pier

Rockfishman... Don't get me started about the conditions on Greenvale Creek! My Congressman and Senators are apparently tired of getting my letters. They've stopped answering me. The Federal Government built the road (the dredged channel) on which citizens built their lives and livelihoods but now the Government has decided that it's too expensive to maintain (the dredging project will cost about $400,000) and consequently those citizens' lives and livelihoods are suffering. :censored:

Slat0930 - Let me know if you want to go fishing... I'm down most weekends and I'm always looking for someone to come along. I stay in the river.

Emorycns1 - Sounds like an elecrical problem... hopefully something simple like a dead battery. Check your alternator output. I got one heck of a sunburn on the boat but it was totally worth it.

Why do I publish the coordinates for my fishing spots? Because their are plenty of fish in the river and there's room out there for all of us.
