Rapp Croakers

We decided we could not take anonther skunkin' on rockfish and needed a confidence booster and some pullage.

Went out from Hoskins Creek at about 8am Sunday After a stop at the new Surfside store. (Nice store and everything we needed!) Headed for the power lines. At the power lines there was a few baots there and we picked a spot in about 12-14' of water just downstream. Outgoing tide and current was running good.

We had the first fish on before line #3 was in the water. Steady action! We had five rods out and frequently had 3 - 4 fish on at a time. Shrimp and squid seemed to work the same. Had a bunch of small cats mixed in too.

Ever hear people talk a bout filling a cooler?

Jim "The Mayor" Shimchick had the only double of the day. It was a mixed double with a cat and croaker.

Total count is unknown. We tossed back quite a few dinks and a bunch of small cats and one large eel. Cleaned 45! Guess whats for dinner tonight!

after my problems Sat. i went with abuddy to westpoint on sunday and we didnt do anything so we headed to Rapp. put in at Garetts and fished the Rapp. ended up catching about 40 keeping about25

Nice catch. I fished the Potomac around Nomini and couldn't get a bite. Very strange. I guess the water is too cold in the Potomac

We filled a cooler like that fishing off our beach at Gwynns Island friday night in 3 hours and 4 rods. Caught them on squid and leftover last years fish bites. Thats some tasty eating for sure

Friend mine fished sun. 12-5 caught 35. Below bells rock light inside crab pots

I'll tell you guys one thing...I'll never keep that many again! Thought, I'd never finish cleaning 'em. Sure was good eatin' last night with some hushpuppies though! Wee have enough for at least one more big fry, or two smaller ones with more sides.
