Hey all...

I put up a couple new rigging videos over the past week. The first is a bush anchor, for holding still if there is above-water structure. The second just shows how to set up a fishfinder battery with AA batteries. This brings Fishyaker.com to 27 episodes so far.

The Kayak Fishing Bush Anchor:

AA Battery Unit for a Kayak:

I've been using the bush anchor method for 5 years on the Susky. If you anchor in a swift current, your yak can be pulled under.if you tie off above your head, this can't happen &your yak just rises if the water rises.I just te mine off to a branch.

I had that 8 battery set up for a year, it seemed to be a pain messing with 8 AA batteries. Every other trip the batteries needed to be tossed or recharged... it worked, but investing in a small 2"x6" gel cell battery (mine was made for a home security system) and mounting it inside the yak worked a lot better for me. I think I charged mine twice all of last season and it ran a FF and at times a small aerator....
