All:
I usually post to the fishing boards, but my son has learned to enjoy crabbing and would like to do some this summer, late June, in Sunset Beach.
I know the area fairly well and have a boat.
Can anyone share a couple of good crabbing spots?

He cut his teeth crabbing last summer at the old bridge at Mount Pleasant, SC, just across from Sullivan's Island. Deserted bridge and we just used the basket nets with chicken.
Any spots you can share?

Thanks,

I don't know about sunset beach exactly, but I have crabbed many times in the sounds and canals in the OBX. I would imagine the same strategy applies. If the water is very warm (it will be in the late summer down there) find a fairly deep spot, maybe 12-15 feet, away from heavy boat traffic and drop your traps, or anchor up and use hand lines. Crab moving water on a moving tide and you should do OK.
