Planning a 7 night cruise with the wife this summer from Baltimore to Bermuda and I'm trying to work in some fishing time.
Anyone fished Bermuda before or have any feedback on best time of year to plan the trip (for fishing:D) or species to go after? Is Offshore hot or would I be better served Reef fishing?
Looking for any reports or guidance and whether or not it's worth it to go offshore or just take the wife reef fishing for a 1/2 day.
If there is a good chance of success I'd rather go after Tuna or Marlin.
Thanks for any feedback.

worked(fished) in bermuda last yesr for the first time.Dont know were to start best fishing destination have ever been to.I think we left last week in june and came back last days of july whenever the first tournament was in O.C.Anyway it was about six weeks. The run to the offshore fishing wasnt bad check "challenger Bank" basically in bermuda you put five lures out and hurry up to hangin out if you get a bite its a marlin(White or Blue). You c an go up on the top of the bank and catch some gamefish. The boat I was on caught a 150# yellofin but its not that good in july for offshore meat.THE REAL DEAL IS A CHANCE AT A GIANT BLUE MARLIN. July and august is the time if you go in june there will be three marlin tournaments.Sorry I didnt keep track of my numbers last year but I know everyday we had marlin bites. The inshore fishing there is Okay great for Hog snapper they get very big there and also Black grouper is popular there trolling Green lures very slow along the reef drop 50 to 100 foot they average p[rety big. Okay have you been before whaT a nice place WARNING watch out for scooters I almost got taken out many times crazy traffic. so beautiful. let me see If I can upload some pics. Oh yea No Bugs. pics not working I will try later

july and august monster blue marlin. plenty of granders, no joke. tons of wahoo and many yellowfin under 50 #. wahoo fishing is insane, and the blue man is there. more big blues there than practically anywhere on the planet. im talkin #'s and size. beautiful place and excellent bluewater fishing.

I took the head boat out of the cruise ship terminal for 4 hour reef fishing, not hot action, but steady and the mates fried up all the fish on the deck on the way in and it was awesome, they had a bar on the head boat which was awesome too. I forget the name, but its a 70 ish foot head boat right at the cruise ship terminal

On our last vacation there I did a wahoo trip with a commercial guy who I got to take me out.
We stayed in a condo in Hamilton and I found this guy at the marina. I don't remember exactly what it cost me but it wasn't too bad. The only thing was I thought I would get at least a loin or some to take back to the condo but he wanted it all to sell.
I caught my PB of 90lbs there. We also did some slow trolling over the reef for grouper but didn't catch any. We only fished about 3-5 miles off of the beach.
There are some very cool things to do there that aren't so touristy. You can rent a little skiff and go snorkeling on your own, which I have done at least 3 years.
Bermuda is beautiful but a little expensive. It's not like most Caribbean islands because there isn't very much poverty there for the most part. Have fun!

Definitely look up James Robbinson on the Wound Up. Great guy, great fisherman. Slays the wahoo and marlin. Put up a grander last summer...

Saw this on one of the sights and was like .
I guess a guys gotta make a living, but seems like double dipping. If were on a cruise it's not like we can bring it back and grill it anyway. Be nice if they would reduce some cost if you filled the boat up with sellable fish though.
So it looks like July might be the best time for some some big Marlin. Thanks guys. I'll start working on booking it real soon. Would love to add a Blue Marlin to the White I have already caught and start working on a hopefully grand slam one day.
