To use the search function requies that you be a supporter of Tidal Fish. It's well worth the money!!

That explains why the same stupid questions get asked over and over again - new users can't search for the info they want. That's a silly restriction - it just generates more clutter.

Hi
It's only a silly restriction if the bill is not addressed to you each month for bandwidth:eek:;-):D
The search option is only available for Subscribers. A full description of what is available to each level of subscription is listed here. (http://www.tidalfish.com/index.php?categoryid=19&p2_articleid=21 ) If you would like to read feedback from other Tidal Fishers who choose to subscribe as well as read some posts by me about the history of the search function on Tidal Fish this is a good link to check out: http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/chesapeake-angler-original-board-maryland-angler/260525-calling-all-tfers-support-tidal-fish.html
We are not trying to be cheap or anything like that and we are not moving to an all pay site at all; the search function takes up a lot of resources on our servers and also bandwidth which costs us a decent chunk every month and we just need to cover our costs which have really risen. You also know as a TFer that we really keep the site clutter free from ads all over vs what a lot of other sites do. While I would like us to get more advertisers, I do want to keep the site clean, easy to use and uncluttered. So the subscription fees help us offset any clutter that ads all over would cause.
I understand if you do not want to subscribe, not everyone sees the value in TidalFish.com to pay. We will continue to do the best we can do provide a good service.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Brandon

I hear you - I didn't realize you had cpu utilization issues.
Thanks,
Mike
