Sadly we lost a couple of guys this past weekend on the Potomac. The initial "unofficial" report is that they apparently hit an object in the water and were ejected from the boat. It appears that the current was moving pretty rapidly and these guys were not wearing PFDs. If you been around the board long you know I am a big advocate of the use of PFDs.

WASHINGTON -- The bodies of two boaters who were reported missing Friday night on the Potomac River were found Saturday.

They were in a group of three people who apparently fell overboard from a bass boat near Smooch Bay, south of the Wilson Bridge.

The two victims were John E. Walker, 48, and William Heislup, 47. The lone survivor is Raymond Molton, 43. All three were from Arlington, Va.

D.C. fire and emergency medical service officials said Molton was pulled from the water Friday night. He is in stable condition, officials said.
