This was our 4th trip out this year for the big ones. Left M'Ville at 0445 for an early start in the rain. Was in the water running at 0655 after a gas stop for the truck and the fishermen. Had Myself, Jim "The Mayor" Shimchick and son Evan "Dead Eye" Gregg for the usual "Man Trip" Crew.

Had planned on a long run from Lewisetta to around Solomons but initiated "Plan B" due to the weather. Headed for #7 and saw some guys catching so we joined up and put out a 5 rod spread.

Spoke to Larry on Valley Girl. He's been great trying to help us get on some fish and we really appreciate it! He was around 9 with Crunch and Good Vibrations. We poked around a bit at #7 with no results and drug the set to #9. Once we got there we joined up with those guys and got to run a "Deer Drive" with Crunch and Ken on GV. As usual we were treated to watching other people boat fish and listening to them on the radio. Seemed like the bite was slow but steady.

We got to about 1200 and thought this would be another citation skunker. Weather sucked. Raining, bumpy so we said ok in 30 minutes we're outta here!

10 minutes later the Rod with the Yellow mini umbrella went off. Jim boated a fat 38" and there were three excited guys on board! All of a sudden the weather started to matter a bit less. Made a turn and ran a similar pattern by #9 and after another 15 minutes said the same thing. Ok, we have one to weigh so we’re done in 30 minutes.

Yep, about 5 minutes later the Tandem White Parachute on the Planer board line goes off! Evan pounces on that and Jim takes the helm so I can help him out. Before I got out of the seat the Mini goes off again and we had a double on! Evans is 33, Mine is 36. LIMIT IN THE BOX!!!!! If you were out there you probably heard the WOO HOOOOOOS! For a few miles!

After the high Fiving was settled down, we made another pass for a bit of C&R and got a 22” that thought he was Hercules and tossed him back. One more pass and we had enough. From the sounds of things the bite turned on for about 45 minutes and then eased back off to hit or miss.

Had fun fishing with Crunch, Ken and Larry as usual. Crunch bugged out about 30 minutes before the action hit us. Our double hit within 50 yards SE of the #9 Bouy. The schools were working around that area all morning.

In Order Left To Right: Evan, Jim, Me

Evans fish was 3” shorter but 2 oz heavier! All Jims was a spawned out Female, both mine and Evans still had Roe. Evans was fat.

Thanks for the help guys!!!

Nice fish and glad that you got em. I heard you all talking on the radio, seemed really excited. Someone kept calling out 'fish-on' on 68. I was fishing up by Ragged Pt

Dave
It should be even better next weekend. I think we are un the "upswing" as the Rocks move down the river post-spawn. Since 2 of our 3 had roe and judging from reports I've read elseware, they are not even here yet. Guys up north are nailing them!

Scott, thanks for posting the pictures. Now Brigitte, our B.E.S.T. Marine sponsor, will know that the NNAC actually does catch some fish.
