Does anyone have any info on a Koden radar system. I don't have much knowledge with radar systems. What do I need to look for. Thanks for any info.

Furuno, Furuno,furuno... Did I mention Furuno? Just decide if you want to spot birds or not. Open aray for birds radome for daymarkers and such.

vtfisher,

I have a Lowrance 4 kilowatt open array (manufactured by Koden) and I found birds plenty of days this past winter with it. Koden radars have been around for along time.....I love the hell out of mine.:thumbup::thumbup:

I have a Koden (mine is a Lowrance, but it's still a Koden). It works. I'm not good enough with it to spot birds - I'll probably never be - but it is good for spotting things I don't want to run into when it's dark or foggy. It has been useful offshore in spotting faraway groups of boats (just so I go hunt them down and make sure they aren't catching anything either.)

Ive had Furuno and a Ray Marine. Both will spot birds and Kayak fisherman if they are not catching anything. The Ray Marine was a Radome and the Furuno is an open aray. I was happy with both. I Like being able to stay within 3 miles of the beach without any guessing during Striper season. Its not something I fire up every trip. In fact I use It very little but Its nice to have when you need it.
