I like to fish but my work schedule and family duties seem to keep me from keeping up with a regular crew. One of the guys I fished with all winter got badly hurt recently and is out of commission for a long while.

I would really prefer to rent a cottage for a few days and trailer my own boat down to Hatteras but that seems like a long shot at this point.

So with vacation coming next week and prime time in the obx can anyone recommend any Charters that may have walk on spots to go offshore or jig wrecks?

Thanks,

Ben

Patrick Caton on the Little Clam out of Oden's Dock, he will put you on a great mixed bag. Check out his websight for dates on make up charters.

We do make up charters and we are out of Hatteras Landing Marina. Let me know if you are interested in next Saturday/Sunday and I will see what I can come up with!

We do nags head every year for our vacation.
Ive always had good trips on a charter every year, Last year I Ho'ed on a tidalfish boat too.
Im sure there are some greats like the capt's out of Odens.
But dont forget about oregon inlets fleet. (make up charters)super easy, cept you cant pick a boat or captain, kinda goes by who's up next kinda thing.
My first trip was on the BLUE DEVIL out of OI in August a few years back,, I released a 400+ Blue Marlin
Thats how i got my OFFSHORE ADDICTION, Thanks to Capt Vern!
Went and bought a boat soon after that,, been chasin Whitey ever since. In fact I Released a white bout 30 miles Off 2 years after my Blue in my own boat.

Have fun.

Good luck down there Ben. You know you're always welcome with me this Summer so just give me a shout. We are always scheming for the next trip and usually looking for folks who want to fish.

Captain Bob's in Duck sets up makeup charters out of Oregan Inlet and Hatteras. I'm going the last week of July towing my boat and we have a house rented at Pirates Cove. Closest thing to heaven on earth. Good luck.

Make up trips used to be the bread and butter of the OIFC fleet. With the struggling economy they have become few and far between. You dont get to pick the boat but all the boats in the fleet are very capable of giving you a world class offshore fishing adventure. You can also learn alot from fishing with any one of us. You can also see who is first up for the trip and make sure it is someone you want to go with. The charter business is in serius trouble right now because we are a luxury item. Booking a make up would be a great way to support our industry and struggling economy. Thanks for considering it.
