Gents,

I used to post religiously in the Bay version of the TF and learned ALOT from this board and the Captains that would post and take me as an HO on the Bay.

I am quite saddened to see such a low usage on this section of the boards. Let me be the first to admit that I learned just about everything I know about striper fishing from these boards and the amazing Captains on here spreading the wealth of knowledge they posses.

With such a rich fishing heritage up here in the Boston MA area why is this section so neglected?

Can we get an old fashioned military roll call going here?

I guess I will start:

*Ahem*

Hi, I am Joe and I am an addict...

Wait I apologize wrong meeting.

Seriously I *am* Joe and I am new to the MA fishing scene.

OIF and OEF vet, worked for many years down in MD and the North Bay there on a few boats, and at a few shops, which means I have more gear than sense.

Stationed up here at Devens MA, and bought me a new boat.

The goods:
I got all the gear one could drool over so there will never be any issues there.
I have a 26 ft cabin cruiser that is in great condition.
USCG 6 pack license holder.

Looking for? Just any knowledge about the area and how to fish it. Tuna, striper, anything really. Avid saltwater fly fisherman so would love to hook up with some bluefin on the fly this summer.

I will be heading out probably every weekend on fri night and coming back on sundays.

Launching out of Newburyport so far is the best deal I can find as far as dry storage of the boat and trailer near a launch ramp... But I am open to some suggestions!

So I guess there is a bit about me.

The questions:

Where to fish out here whether it be light tackle, trolling or even saltwater fly fishing?

Any other ports you know of with dry storage where I can leave the boat on the trailer for the week and just show up hook up and launch? I could only find newburyport to be honest.

Any other information anyone would be willing to share to an angler new to these parts.

Just trying to get to know people and the area. Oh, do you guys have a TF channel on the VHF out here I know they do down in the Bay.

ALso, lets get these forums active!

Thanks for taking the time to humor my ramblings.

Joe-

This website seems to have all of the boston locals on it. Good info for striper, bluefish, cod, tuna. Check out the mass fourm and tuna/offshore forum. Reports are just starting as fish are just starting to arrive.
