Every year I make this post and ask the same question...you would think I would write
it down but I never do...
I use the Ches. Bay entrance figures and for example for sat it states
11:40 0.00 knots slack ebb begins
15:30 1.26 max ebb
18:25 0.00 slack flood begins
These figures are off about one hour for the nine foot shoal, anybody know whick way
they are off???
We went over to Chris' bait and tackle and picked up sea clams today so I'm
ready for some decent weather and DRUM....
Thanks

seems like the bridge is always behind the posted tides.

If you are looking for the "slack" tide at the CBBT, then the Bay Entrance predictions are right on the money. Keep in mind that tide and current are two completely different things. The tide can be slack on the surface while the current is running either in or out on the bottom.

Drum don't care if the weather is nice. The uglier the better.

I use the same table for current. As I understand it, the Ches Bay Entrance point of current reference is around a mile ocean side of the 3rd Island. Over the years I've found the predicted currents just about dead-on for the 3rd. Up at the High Rise, the Ches Bay entrance current table predictions occur nearly an hour earlier, and down at the first SBC and 1st Island area, about an hour later.

Foy, I thought it would be the opposite...the tide dies out at the sbc channel first
and the high level last....
..........since I'm not on the water up there a great deal.
Hopefully someone else will chime in on the time adjustments and "direction" of the variation.
