I recently bought a lowrance 520 gps/depthfinder. i mainly fish river systems in the lower chesapeake bay and the bay itself. i need advice on which model chip to get? i am mainly interested in bottom contours. also, any advice on which chip to get?

thanks. i ended up getting the Lowrance NauticPath. i am very pleased with it. i looked at the Navionics Gold vs. the NauticPath side by side at BPS. i could not justify spending $100 more on a product that did not seem that much better. i would recomend for the first time buyer to buy the NauticPath. cant beat it for the money.

I have to agree. The NauticPath is a lot of chart for the money!!

i agree i have teo lowrance models on my boat. i like nautipath more then the platium, but if you offshore fish if you buy the platium you get the offshore chip free, and it has every bump and bottom mark just like the bay has
