Three Blue Catfish, One White Perch and Two Croakers (at 10 inch)

I tried the mouth of Wicomico River off Cobb Island again instead of Bushwood. I learned that I might have better chance to catch more and quality croakers at Bushwood. But, I still wanted to live line for stripers in Potomac River if I could catch some bait fish, small white perch or croakers (9” is legal). So I picked Cobb Island over Bushwood because Potomac River is closer from Cobb Island than Bushwood by a mile. My goals are 1) Catch many croakers, or 2) Live line white perch and croakers for a striper if I catch small white perch or small croakers at 10 inches.

Being Homer Simpson, I had to go back home after 45 minutes of driving. I forgot to bring the paddle, seat and PFD. I left on the other truck bed yesterday after rinsing them. At the boat ramp, I found that I brought only one rod. I remembered what my wife said, “Are you sure that’s all you forgot?”, with smiling face when I picked up the paddle and seat. One rod was ok. I always carry a Cuban Yoyo in the tackle bag.
When I started bottom fishing, I learned by anglers returning from Bushwood, that people on Jon Boats caught many croakers at Bushwood. Here, I did not catch big croakers on shrimps and squid. I caught three 4-5 pound blue catfish on shrimps by using a Cuban Yoyo. I managed catch one small white perch and two small croakers at 10 inches on size 6 hooks with small piece of FishBite/shrimp/squid.

After having small live baits, I paddled to the middle of Potomac River for stripers. There were no fishermen but me within 5 miles. I did not catch any stripers. The waves were 1.5-2 feet at 13-17MPH wind at the middle of Potomac River. I needed a fast kayak I thought.

Well, next year, I probably will not try to catch both croakers and stripers during the Striper Spring Trophy season. I will go to Bay Bridge (Sandy Point State Park) for stripers or go to Bushwood for just for croakers.

At least you caught something there, not like solomons the day before.
Also, thanks for taking the pictures for us. They are great!
Everyone at the shop thought you were a pretty cool guy and cant wait for you to come back down!!!
Take the paddle boards out on a calm day and they want to hear about you spear fishing!!!
We have 4 now, so we can get out in a group and paddle board.

Weather permiting, im going to try for croakers around the bridge and in front of the CBL pier (where we fished the first trip) Thursday.

Joey,
I had fun on the demo day. Since we were in the water a lot on the demo day, I found a new thing, a valuable experience. That is 59F water was not cold water for my kayaking. I have been wondering when I stop wearing wetsuit. I proved it again yesterday that I don't have to wear wetsuit any more as long as I don't stay in the water more than 10-20 seconds. Now I have a new rule for me - Stop wearing protective gear (cloths) for the cold water as long as water temp is 59F, air temp is above 73F and with wind is mild. I wouldn't know this if I didn't go to the demo.
