Replaced the water pumps on my Suzuki 140's a couple months ago and ran them in the driveway with no problems. Launched last Sunday and port engine pissed water like a race horse stbd engine nothing. Took her home pulled her apart and all looked good assembled again according to shop manual checked the suction side of pump clear blew low pressure air up thru discharge into engine air coming out of tell tale hole, removed the tell tale direction piece it is clear. When assembling pump turned her in a clockwise direction with a little dish detergent for lubricant to make sure vanes were in correct direction. When installing lower unit into engine made sure shafts lined up and discharge of pump lined up. still no water when putting the ear muffs on her nor filling large garbage can and running her. I'm at my wits end. She engages fwd and astern what could be wrong? The only thing I noticed is where the drive shaft goes thru to of housing it is not a perfect seal is the pump getting air bound?

make sure you lined up the water inlet line correctly and didnt destroy the rubbber grommet on the end.... dont forget that it is a tell tale and not the only water discharge... if the water tube in the lower unit is ok let engine run on muffs or in barrel and feel cylinder heads periodicly if they arent HOT than all should be well.... or start engine, remove hose to thermostat it will let you know if your getting water

Do you let the engine run long enough to warm up? Blow backwards through the pisser and see if its clogged with something. Mud from bees, salt, etc. can clog them up. Does the engine overheat? Just a thought if you have done the same on both engines and one is ok.

Let us know.:D
