The river was cloudy because of all the rain in addition to its usual tanic color so the visability was near zilch around Shad Landing. Our ability to see spawning fish and their ability to see our lures was very limited. Up river, on the other hand, from Porters Crossing to Snow Hill, the river was clearer and there was a lot more fishy action. People were catching White Perch, Catfish and Shad (including at least one White Shad) from the bridge at Porters. Down stream from there we got Crappies, Bass from 12" to 14" and big Pickerel. I did get one keeper sized Bass from the docks at Shad Landing and was immediately pounced upon by a DNR guy who, I swear, had been lurking in the shadows.
