On Mother's Day we had husband and wife team Brian and Jeni Wilkins with a 46.5 and 47 inch Black Drum. Also that day we had Tim Elliott with a 50 inch Black Drum, Aaron Tatem, 50 inch, Justin Scott, 51.5 inch, and Jason Williams 51 inch - all nice Black Drum. On Friday the 8th, T. C. Sessoms landed a 55 lb., 50 inch Black Drum. These were caught on either chowder clams, peeler crabs, or sea clams. Congrats to everyone!!

Just to pass along, for those going after Drum, we have plenty of sea clams and chowder clams at Wallace's. I also have peeler crabs, however, as they turn to soft crabs I am cooking them on the weekends in the Seafood Shack!!!

I hope so. . . it sounds like a good place to stop for lunch when you are fishing the flats.

I hate to give away the secret, but Wallace's is located right next to a fantastic public ramp, especially if you have to drive from up north like me. The staff at Wallace's are great people the store is well stocked, and they usually have a great selection of baits (live, fresh and frozen). My favorite place to launch :-)
The channel can get a little shallow during ultra low tides, use caution if you've got a big boat.

Thought I would clarify, the Seafood Shack is a "kitchen on wheels", it is located to the right of the tackle shop (on the outside) and we cook out of there on the weekends starting at noon. We specialize in fresh seafood and have a few items for those who don't care for seafood (I can't imagine!). We have plans to eventually turn half of the shop into a small eatery, and keep the other half for tackle and still have all the live bait and all the other items everyone needs for their day on the water!

We will be open by 6:00 a.m. for the tackle shop, and the Seafood Shack opens at noon for lunch and stays open through the dinner hour till about 5-5:30 or until it dies down in the late afternoon.

Let us know if you are looking for any special bait and we will do our best to get it in!! Right now we have plenty of sea clams, chowders, minnows, and have started getting eels. We have peelers as well. We should be getting Spot soon - they are just now starting to come in. Our number is 851-5451.
