Chowders vs Sea clams???

Matt, either works depends on what you can get. Last year I had a 5 hour solo trip with 7 fish, 4 were paper on chowder clams. I like the sea clams because one makes a big glob of meat on the hook. Chowders I will put 2 or three on at a time.

I always find it hard to keep the chowder on the hook. Sometimes, all I end up with is a chunk of potato.

I use sea clams as far as keeping them on the hook use long thin rubber bands and rubber band them to the hook..works great..

If you have problems keeping chowders on the hook, take a piece of panty hose and fill with desired amount of clams. Tie hose shut and thread on hook. Will stay like that all night unless a hump back comes a callin.:rockon:
