I want to make some drum rigs but not sure what size hooks to use and what size leader to use and the length. so iwas just wondering what everybody used.

just finshed tying up a few . used # 8 gamagatsu circle hooks -100 lb leader 4ft long-250lb swivel attached to coastlock snapswivel on 80lb braid line ,put a sliding sinker rig on the main line first. got all of it at bass pro.

I learned a few years back a trick on taking your 4-5 leader and cutting it about a foot (after knots) from the bottom, then tie the swivel back to it, and on the longer part of the leader install your beads and fishfinder rig for the weight, then double uni to the main line. The idea was that since the reds are bottom feeders, it keeps the bait closer to thier strike zone, worked GREAT for me vs just having the 1 piece long leader. I use 60# mono & 8/o circles attached to 50# braid.
