Buddy of mine is wanting to drown a piece of squid this weekend on the York River towards York Spit Lt I was thinking it was a bit early for big croakers. But are they here yet and if they are where are they? Thanks

Go for it, they have been here a while & everywhere, pick up some fishbites to go with that squid

We fished the York a few weeks ago. Shrimp seemed to attract the larger fish. They appear to be all over the place, have fun.

Hit North of the Coleman on the Gloucester side just up from VIMS. There s a shelf there that's about 8 feet deep, and it's all oyster beds. Used to tear up some BIG croakers out there.

:fishing2:[SIZE="6"]I fished out of west point and caught plenty of croakers about 2lbs. The bait was fishbite with squid on the same hook. I fished out of tuckers boat rental until the water became rough. I planned to take my boat out 5-24-09. Hope to see tight lines paralleled near the the light house. If anyone care to share another hot spot putting in at west point I would greatly appreciated. Taking some of my students out on sunday.:fishing2:
