Went yesterday to York State park. Croaker bite was steady all day long. Caught about 80 with 40 nice keepers up to 16 inches. Fished 20 to 25 ft using squid tipped with bloodworm or shrimp Fishbites. Best bite was right across from the ramp at the channel markers in the channel. Breezy but not a bad day.

Thanks for the report. Where exactly is the State Park? I'll be towing from Richmond, and will be putting in at West Point over the weekend.
See you on the water! Pole Position. :fishing2:

Down river on the right. About 2 or 3 miles I guess. If you take the Croaker exit off of 64 it will take you to the state park.

Pole position, I'm from Hopewell and I too put in at West Point. Me and my daughter fished the outgoing tide this morning and brought home about 60 croakers all were between 12 and 18 inches. My daughter caught the biggest one and she was so happy. All were caught on squid in 20 feet of water at bouy 37 which is about a mile from the ramp.
Good luck this weekend.

I see it now. Thanks for the help! While looking at a chart I see that there is a ramp at York river state park and one across the river at Tuckers, has anyone used either of these? I have been to the West Point Ramp before and there was no room to park the truck and trailer. A local guy at the ramp said that they will tow your rig if it's in the field and not in a parking space! Just wondering what the closest ramps would be that could handle my boat. I don't mind paying, boat is a 2400 Vector.
See you on the water! :fishing2: Pole Position.

Croaker is a great landing except at extremely low tides.
I have had to drive on the trailer in sloppy mud
6 dollar fee
some bait available at gatehouse
