Live LIP report 7/11 pm

Dixie is down at the LIP tonight catching small blues on ~ every cast w/gotcha plugs. While bait is producing the Sandbridge special = skates [tongue]

Sure will get the rest of the details later on from'em.

Stop by Bucket's pad in route to LIP and picked up two frozen bags of croaker, due to lack of bait and unsure of LIP conditions. Arrived at LIP (Water was much clearer than the past few days) and lines in the water at 6:30pm with frozen/recent croaker. Bait on the bottom no more than 30 seconds and Mr. Skate greeted him promptly. Put in another bait and repeat.

Pulled out the plugging rod when everyone started to catch some blues. Caught a few and started using them for bait as well. Same result: SKATE!!![sad] Another run of blues came later and they were a bit bigger class (12-14 inches) compared to earlier (8-12 inches). One guy had a spanish bite him off close to the pier, but that was the only spanish sighting.

Blues were hard and heavy the last 30-40 minutes of moving water. Gotchas were the bait of choice. Blues were so thick they were puking thier guts out (silversides/anchovies) when they hit the pier.

The 1502 R/S kept producing skates and the water stopped moving, so I packed it up at 9:30pm and headed out!

Well at least I had some fun slinging the ole gotcha plug again!!!![grin]

Small croaker and some decent roundhead were being caught up and down the pier all night. Not a hot and heavy bite, but very very steady for the bottom rig's!
