Had beer chilling on ice. Turned up hot tub, put out chairs and umbrellas.
Send one line out of pier to check for perch/croaker. My cheapest zebco.
Doing chores and checked on the line. Felt heavy so I started reeling. Felt like a small perch when u get them surfing in they don't fight. Fish realized it was hooked about half way in. It turned left and I thought I might have a nice croaker. I called one of my girls to reel it in. She had just stepped on the pier when the fish said enough of this. It headed directly away from the dock and the little zebca was singing! It did not stop, did not slow, did not pass go and collect 200 dollars. Zebco ran out of line and 'ting'.
Def not a catfish, stingray or rock. Think it was a little drum the way it pulled and fought briefly. I will never know and it should be the first fish story of the weekend.
We have guests comming from out of town but I will fit in some fishing anf fun. If anyone is around stop by
