Our spot track (jackspot and marine electric) -
SPOT Shared Page (http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0CmARUcqeOU04Q4YyQi3nCFXOfTKX5v T6)

We found bait and porpoises on both structures, but had trouble finding water warmer than 60.

I can't go the weekend of the 5th (sister's HS graduation weekend), so Graham needs a ride :)

I'm planning to go the following Monday, so look forward to your recon.

Hey I'm pretty sure that was us on the ME when you pulled in. We were fighting a shark right when you pulled up and I belive we released two more after that. Did you get any bluefish off the Marine Electric? We had steady action on it all day. You may have been too close to an established slick to pull any fish form the area. Most of the time it pays to find open water. I never shark within 5 miles of another boat if I can help it. I tried hailing you guys most of the day but couldn't raise anyone.

HEY RUSS, i'm leaving the Ramp saterday before everyone gets there, 4am, heading to either Marine Electric or the Bone. We have our shark rigs, chum, trolling tuna gear, tuna jigs, some dolphin feahers and a 25ft hardtop Penn Yan filled with fuel.
Can you give me your expert advice on:
how many holes do drill in this chum so it last 6yrs? after that we are going on the troll no matter what!

How long do you fight a shark before you actully bring it to the boat and tale wrap it, we'd rather not shot anything!

Any other quick pointers would be great !

thanks

Sure looks like some good water pushing into the bone. There iis also a greater mass of bluefish. I'd take a look at Masseys as well. I usually put three or four holes in a bucket. You'll get a good idea once you get set and see how it flows out. You whant a steady stream but not too much either. I'm constantly adjusting. I don't tail rope I use the flyer if I'm gonna kill one. PErsonally I kill very few sharks. Makos stocks are falling and they take a long time to reach sexual maturity. I try to limit myself to one mako a season unless I tourny fishing and get a weighable fish. If you plan on just tail wrapping a mako then you better be sure he's tired. They will normally swim right at the boat within 5 minutes of hook-up. I don't advise trying it then. Move the boat away and tire him out good if you plan killing him. Call me on Channel 1 and hail Old School. Let me know what you find out there.
