Boat: Reel Fancy
Crew: Bert, Joey, Tilley, Bryan, Jeremy and Me

Fished with buddy boat Poor Boys Toy & later with others, from the 600-650 in 71.5-73.5 degree clean aqua green blend. Had a good stretch of virgin sulfur/dead/older grass edge to fish in the am & we both managed a good # of early morning bites form the gaffers. Later we spread out & found some mammals on the 615-620 overboard & managed a handful of Yellowfin bites from repeated passes along the leading edge of a pod of 2 tones moving south like wild fire. Only held 1though.:helpsmilie: Must have been smaller class based on the misses + the overall size of the one we boxed but were cool to see regardless, darting through the flats & shorts. The high light of the day for me was seeing 2 separate shots at billfish. One only window shopped my right long but wouldn't commit despite my best repeated attempts while the snd blind sided us on the left middle & took to the air before pulling the hook. Both looked to be nice fish. Oh well. Kept us on the edge of our seats if nothing else. All in all another beautiful day on the water out of OI. Man I can never get enough. Can't wait to get back next weekend. See you then. Good fishing with all the buddy boats today!!!!:fishing2:

Bill,

We started alittle further south down at the 400 with the same sulfur/dead grass. Found a steady gaffer bite for the first couple of hours and like you mentioned had a few bills showing. Had one all over a short rigger but couldn't get a a hook up or a good view to see what it was exactly? Could see the bill but never got hooked up. Later on saw one free jumping several hundred yards out behind the boat either a small blue or a white. Heard one guy on the radio saying he saw five.

Did have a first at least for our crew. We worked inshore and there was about a mile of cooler 68-69 water in between 72-74 water. As we crossed through seven lines went down. For a few moments I'm thinking pay dirt. As we start working our way through I see the first fish coming up and its a Reef Donkey. Apparently we crossed over a big school and they covered us up. Fun to watch and great practice but not what I was hoping for. 7 for 7 on those guys,, why can't we do that when it's Charlie?

Finished the day with some tiles and SB.

Thanks again Billy for another great day on the water with a great crew and Capt. Next time we’ll be prepared with a drop back bait for that billfish. Good work with the gaff on those Dolphin Tilley, I feel bad I interrupted the fine job you were doing, sorry bout that.
