sound fishing

i'll be coming down to kitty hawk this weekend and would like to know where to launch in the sound to do a little kayak fishing.i'll have a 12 year old with me some and i'd like for him to catch something other than croaker,maybe speck's, flounder, puppies.. any help would be great.

Darren, You can put on at Pirates Cove I have seen a lot of Yaks fishing out of there and they fish around the bridge and all around. Go luck I’ll be heading down the end of July and I fish Oregon Inlet, Pirates Cove and Manns Harbor.
