Fished York Spit today with Hamish . What a great day flat calm sea's and clear skies. We left from from Tabb at around 6 am. From there we ran out to get our needed croaker bait. At 7 am we where at York spit nice short run. We anchored in our usal spot and started to set out the rods. At around 7:30 I went to get some thing out of my tackle bag I turn and look down and there is a huge cobia in the slick . We both start to scamble to get an eel too throw at him when he dives and hits my right rod . Well the fight is on. The cobia starts to shaken his head and trying to jump. While all this time my man Hamish is clearing the lines and getting the boat ready for a battle. On his second run he goes under the boat and dink he's gone. :nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono:
O well had fun while it lasted . Hamish and I stuck it out until 4pm. We did see two cobia's later that day but no takers. Fish are out there go get em.:rockon::fishing2::fishing2:

Thanks for the report.

Did you stay out there in that one spot that entire time? Did you reset chum slicks if you moved? Chum on top and the bottom?

I'm just trying to get a feeling for this cobia thing.

Thanks,

nitro

We stay in one place the whole day. I set the chum bag on the bottom . You must have chum and we use the menhaden oil for the top of the water colum. patience is the name of the game .
