My mom decided that since she is retired she would start doing things she always wanted to do. She grew up on the Severn but never crabbed from a boat, only with lines from their pier. So, here is her first trip out on Bonka IV with me. She pulled 25 traps on three runs and was able to manage 20 nice crabs for dinner. We crabbed the Narrows (creek) for about an hour in the evening using necks in 8' of water. A few sliced tomatoes and some corn and we were ready.

Very nice post. Enjoy your mom while she is here.
I am losing my folks during "The Long Goodbye" now.

What size CS do you have. How does the 40 Yamaha work for you.
I have a 19 CS original flatbottom with a 35 Honda. Good motor but am looking to replace it now. It is 14 years old and starting to cough some.

Great pics too!

Thanks. I have the 17 DLX. The 40 HP has 400 hours and is still running strong. I don't think I could have picked a better size for the boat. I wanted the lightest 4 stroke that could do the job. That 40 weighed the same as the Yamaha 2 stroke 40 so it was an easy decision.

Looks like it was a good day on the water and back at the house!
