Where can I find them closest to the Newark area ? Jon boat or bank. I have a blast C & R' ing them in MD but as usual, can't keep even one.[sad]

I've heard that the American shad in the Del. River will not bite until they migrate up to the vicinity of Easton, PA. From there they are caught all the way up to New York, but I've never heard of shad caught in northern Delaware.

I've caught them in Beck's Pond. You can see them climb the spillway. Going downriver, I suspect this eventually finds the Christiana but you can follow it yourself with a map.

I caught 5 last year in July in the anchorageon on clam. Was shocked!!! I would think they would run uin the Misspillion, but not sure. Have seen them caught in IRI, and in OC inlet.

Many years ago I caught white shad below the dam on the Brandywine in Wilmington. Have not been back to that area in long, long time. Might be worth a look. You could see them from the Market St. bridge.
