Fished the spit area on sunday from about 10 till 4. started 4 miles inshore of the light in 12 feet of water at the end of the ebb current with our chum slick heading toward/over a 6' flat, only sharks. then moved to 200 yards east of the light and fished for one hour with no bites, current was starting to come back in the bay but not enough to turn the boat with the wind blowing the opposite direction. Was I in the right area, have not fished the spit before??? Saw some people fishing on the york spit light, any reports from them???? Hope others did better.

i fished about 100 yards south of the structure in 15ft of water and didnt do nothing, i saw 3 boats at the structure catching spadefish... they may have been cobia fishing also im not sure... thats the first time this year i fished there, so hopefully it will pick up, i have heard and read on here about a few fish around there this year and had a friend of mine fish there saturday and said he saw a few swimming in the slicks and had 1 good run on a nice cobia but didnt say exactly where he was at around the spit..

Fished 6 hours on Saturday for cobe's, didn't see a thing and don't think anyone else did either. After 5 hours, decided to drift and caught 3 short flounder and a couple sharks, not much luck at York Spit.
