Anybody having luck with the Spanish Mackerel off Rappahannock? when does the season
normally turn on?

They will be there when the water is consistently above 70.

Should be soon. Caught 7 Sunday trolling back to Back River from the 4th Island. Gold and Silver both worked.

Last year, the 1st Tidalfish report of WMill Pt Spanish was on 6/22. Per the reports, it was about 3 weeks before things got hot.
The surface temp at WM was 81 degrees on Friday; there may be fish there now.

I've found they tend to "sky" when they first arrive, thus they make themselves known when they move into the area.

Two Spaniards were caught by boats fishing out of Ingram Bay Marina this weekend. Both were modest size. I believe they were in the buoy 62 area.
In the Reedville tournament last week, another boat fishing out of Ingram Bay caught one near the top of the cut channel.
These are the first that I've heard of thus far. I give it another two weeks before we get a steady flow.
