Chawk -

I love Marco in the summer, but it does depend on what you want to do. Me, I'm out for fun only. I fly fish, 100% catch and release mostly inshore and backcountry. We catch a lot of small snook and jacks. To me, it can't be much more fun.

If you are willing to hire a guide you have a very good chance of fun times. There are guides that go offshore, fly fish, spin fish with hardware, throw bait - man it is all happening. If you are looking for the catch and release fly fishing experience I highly recommend Capt Bob Marvin (WELCOME TO captbobmarvin.com (http://www.captbobmarvin.com)).

Enjoy

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Marco Island. Staying until 6/27. Hopefully catching Snook from the beach, I know they'll be there, but will they eat? Same deal with the tarpon. Renting kayaks for the week to cruise the canals, off the beaches, and the mangroves. Supposed to be smaller tarpon year round at Marco. Pretty much a catch and release fishery without a boat. I'll report how we do down there!
