View Full Version : 2nd home
I am considering purchasing a second home (1-2 bdrm, very close to water,290K Limit) somewhere between delaware beaches, down to possibly N.C. Nags Head area to use for vacation/fishing, etc.
I looked at some manufactured homes over in Delaware on the Indian River Bay and Rehoboth Bay area. I liked it because you are very close to the Atlantic ocean by just going through the inlet which is only a few minutes away.
If anyone has any recommendations or ideas on some good locations to check out I would appreciate it.

If you own a boat, there are a number of places to consider. There are a variety of Pot Nets Communities with manufactured housing, also Angola has a marina, and Gull Point has a marina. Contact Wayne Marr at 1-302-945-7938. He is a realitor and knows of your price range and can possibly help you.
We own at Gull Point and have a slip in the marina. We looked at Angola, Pot Nets and other places. You have a variety of options for Indian River and Delaware Bar.
Good Luck

Careful on Rehobeth Bay. It is extremely shallow and not easily navigable by a boat capable of ocean fishing.

If you want to fish offshore in Del.,the season is later and the grounds are further for offshore pelagics than Md. & Va.
I appreciate all of the input!
So where is the closest/best area for larger fish than rockfish, but still close to md or in md areaa?
I looked at the Delaware area. We went to Pots net, Mariners Cove, etc., really nice places, but the property fee's were really crazy to pay for a home where you don't even own the property.
I like Ocean City area where you have the bay and then around the corner you have the ocean for bigger fish.
Look forward to everyone's comments/suggestions..TIA!

I like the Wachapreague/Quinby area.
Take a good look at Virginia's eastern shore, Chincoteague,Gargatha,Wachapreague, Quimby,Oyster,Willlis Wharf For the ocean & seaside bays and Saxis to the CBBT on the West side for the Chesapeake bay. I have a place in Ocean city Md and Chincoteague Va, prefer Chincoteague for the best fishing and Ocean beaches. and a short drive to all the other good fishing places, Better, earlier and more variety fishing the further south you go,cheaper land and housing prices also
RJ,
Tks for the advice.
Can you provide me with any places to look at?
Tks again!
