GPS craps out in fog

I was out fishing the other dAY (INSHORE) when the fog rolled in and it was as thick as pea soup. Couldnt see 50 yards. Not to worry as my GPS, a Lowrance 3500C, would guide me back. WRONG! Gps quit working. I did finally get back and when the fog lifted GPS worked fine again, A friend said the thick fog was he cause of the malfunction. Tried to call Lowreance but couldnt get thru.
Anyone have similar experience?

Never heard of that. I had a GPS issue myself that was on/off then finally off. Of course I first noticed it this spring in thick fog. Turned out to be the connections in the inline fuse. They appeared clean, but a few rubs with soem sandpaper and things have been fine.
