Way to mount handheld spotlight?

Got my Dad a Coleman LED spotlight for Father's day so that he could take the boat out later without worrying about getting caught in the dark. It's pretty heavy for a handheld, any thoughts/success with mounting a handheld spotlight on the boat? Thanks.

P.S. I'm thinking about a temporary mount, as we don't take it out at night too often, maybe something with a suction cup.

You may be able to use a rail mount rod holder for this. Just drop the handle into the rod holder and rotate it around. I doubt you will be able to support a heavy spotlight with a suction cup mount.
