Where can I get reliable tide info, for the Wye? The "MD Tidefinder" site had High tide on 6/21 at almost 3PM--when I got in at 1:20PM it was already up, at the public ramp!

I think most 'predictor' type pages just use some sort of models based on time, moon phase, etc... - they seem to put out the same info you'd get in an almanac showing tides a year in advance. They never seem to make adjustments for real-time changes in the weather (storms, winds etc.)

This is the best page I've found, because it overlays real time data with the 'predictions'. This lets you make pretty good predictions for the next few days.
I don't know if it covers the area you want, but pick 'station home page' in the upper left and check it out...

I like this site:

Tide Region Selection (http://www.saltwatertides.com/pickpred.html)

Thoroughbred - the site you listed is just crunching the numbers and churning out the same stuff they list in the trades/newspapers etc... It's predicted, not actual. I just ran it for Solomons Island, MD - they show: Tu 23 High 3:16 PM 1.2

Fact is - observed high tide was more than an hour before that time, and the tide was over 2.5ft. That's why I like the page I posted - you can see actual side by side with 'predicted' and use that information to make your own 'real time updated prediction'.

The only site that takes wx anamolies into account is:
Extratropical Storm Surge (http://www.weather.gov/mdl/etsurge/index.htm?coast=me&load=memap.htm&map=0-48)

Their models are always wrong though. If they say expect a 1 foot surge you better expect 2. However no one I know of factors the anomalies into current predictions.
Rememeber- Slack water does NOT coincide with high and low tide their is a delay.

You also have to think about the water level. Rivers are running high due to the rain right now and that would add to the total height. I use the table on that site for the lower Potomac and it's pretty close time wise but then again a hour here or there doesn't both me much because I fish sunrise and sunset more then anything.

Always best to remember that tide predictions are just that, predictions.

I was out this morning and the Tide chart on DNR's site was right on for the spot I was at.

And the jumbo's were out in full force too, big/hard crabs. Ended-up with 73 BIG Jimmies, threw all the #2 back to swim another day !!! Was off the water by 8:45.
