Folks,
I normally fish up around Bloody point / Chesapeake Beach, but I'm going to start a few trips down to Gwynn's island - trying to hit up on some Cobia and Spades. Need to know of a good bait shop (would like to get some live). I would also like to know if you guys have a preferred boat ramp in that area. I was told about one at the Seebreaze Resturant. I also called Horn Harbor Marine. One last question... any cheap hotels / motels in the area? IF not, I'll just rent a slip!
Thanks in advanced

The ramp right there on the island (I believe the resturant is called sea breeze) would be your best bet. If on a weekend, make sure you are there early. For bait I would stop at Queens Creek Outfitters. They are on rte 198 on the way down to Gwynns Island. Closest place to stay that I am aware of would be The Dockside Inn in Deltaville, do a google search, they have a website.

Queen's Creek is great tackle shop although it has been a while since i have been. They had live spot for flounder last time I was there. There is also a hotel on Gwynn's Island that could serve as overflow parking for ramp if necessary. Good luck

Hey guy's thanks for all the info... I called the tackle shop - great guy - gave a lot of answers and was not afraid to talk. He does not have any live bait for cobia - exept for eals, but he does get fresh frozen. He also has plenty of clam chum for the spades... That will be my first stop... And for the specks - I'm told they are terrible - waste of time - not worth it!!! Yeah - Just like the crabs aren't running in my little secret spot up north!!!!
Thanks again... Family Jewells, channel 68 - 22' Mako walk around
