Despite 2 hours sleep I was up and out the door and to Owls creek by 4:30AM. Must have been still sleeping because I forgot to unplug the power cord to the boat as I pulled out of my driveway and almost ripped the outlet out of the side of my house. Lucky no serious damage. Ran out to the south wall of the canyon where 2 weeks ago sunday we caught #25+ tuna by noon. Things were different today, not nessecerily bad but different. 68 F water, put out the entire spread without a knock down and began to work the area. Found two tone dolphin(mamal) working something so we trolled across the area. Didn't get a knock down till 9:30AM and it pulled the hook just before it got to the boat. We regrouped and started to troll again. Nothing for a little over an hour but then all hell broke loose. First the flat line with a small B/W Sailure that my bro-in-law rigged with #50 Flurocarbon snap crack leader parts, then the other flat, a pink tuna clone with a nice fish on, then my home made spreader bar( B/P/W small squid), then starboard short and finally shot gun. Did I say we had four anglers with 6 lines down? Kaos!!! Worked the fish in hand and figure we would deal with the other lines if they were still there when we got them in. Leader parts on 2 more lines but we managed 3 of the 6 fish. These were all 60 # class fish!! We worked that area and worked our way inside without a bite for the rest of the day. We were given the chance but missed 4 of the 7 bites. Nice fish but harder to find today. Great trip in at 35 knots. Martin
