Got in the truck this am and grabbed a quarter flipped it head north the the canyon tails south to the weather bouy..tales it was...dropped lines in 2 miles from the buoy passed once turned and passed again 5 gaffers on...few more passes and picked off doubles and singles...pushed off to the 200 fathoms no luck accept for on the way out picked a few gaffers off here and there in 40 and 50 fathoms..we pushed back nail some more gaffers in 40 fathoms then pass the buoy and nail some more gaffers....lots of life 2 tones whales turtles tuna birds every where bait marks all over but no tuna...hard to leave the gaffers to find the tuna..lolwe ended the day on the 10 fathom hump ...23 gaffers in the box and a hand full of missed bites..water at the buoy was 60 to 70 and 71 to 72 on the hump.we saw two boats all day long....thanks to my crew my awesome wife katie k.,noah k.,colton,justin,gina jam,bucky,& rudy and his fiancÉ..

Rudy said JIGGING thos dolphin was off the hook! Even the one he was determined to not let get away hahaha. Winnin flounder tournaments 1 day and waxin some gaffers the next. Im glad they got to get out there with you. Lets set a date for a Tat-tuna tattos the Whiteys or Hoos!

Nice catch Jimmy. We spent the day where we dropped lines initially, the 320 area 80-100 fathoms. Boats moved in from the north so we didn't work north as I had planned. We boated 9 YF's, releasing 3 (too small), and also boated 3 gaffers. The largest YF was 50 lbs. Nice day. I appreciated the radio chatter.

Nice job Jimmy. I was wondering if anyone made the run south this weekend. When we found the BFT inside the fingers I thought for sure the 10 fathom hump would be loaded with them. Guess not.

Great Mahi fishing this season & to think it's allready almost July & still not having to resort to the chickens. So far things are looking up for the VB fleet. Here's to more of the same.:chugbeer:
