I hope you guys caught more fish than I did.

We were fishing on my boat out of Chincoteague. Fished the Hambone, Hot Dog and the Sausages on Friday. Call it the "Tour de Pork". No fish. Got home with 16 gallons of gas to spare.

Saturday fished the Washington Canyon with the big boats. It's about 52 miles from Chincoteague inlet to the tip. Hooked up a couple mahi, and a bluefish. Thick fog and high wind rolled in while we were about 62 miles from the inlet. Having radar is awesome! We trolled in for a couple hours and it started to lift. Ran back in. 25 gallons left in the tank. Little better than Friday.

Sunday headed back out to the washington. Nada. I called it at about 12:30. dejected.

Oh well - Boat did very well on it's maiden voyages offshore. I cant wait to go again. I may get a fuel bladder to ease my concerns. I also need a better transducer.

Anyway - hope you guys got into the fish. We did about 500 miles, 350 gallons of fuel, and not a lot to show for it.

I think I saw you at the Hambone on Friday. Saw a green CC there early. Marked a lot of bait there and picked up a nice gaffer there but nothing else, so we moved out to Poormans at around 0900.

As soon as we got to Poormans we were able to pick a few small YFT but I think we got there a little late as the bite was very very slow after 1200. Also picked up another gaffer at Poormans.

Washington looks the best now, lotta good reports from there on sunsets fishing report and coastal fisherman.
It can be tought out there,, did you find the Lob gear,, shoulda been mahi on them if the water was warm enough 69-70.
I usally troll 100 tip to the 500 tip and then either north to the 100 line or to the south shoulder 100 line.
also alot of afternoon bites happen,, i never leave at 12.30.....also we like to keep the DISCO to a minimum and run ballyhoo nakid and tight to the transom.
Maybe you could pull them outboards off and drop a diesel in her ,, fish love em. lol
dont give up.
best days in the wasington are weekdays when your the only boat around.

Don't feel too bad. It was not red hot this weekend. We pulled a skunk on Saturday as well. (with twin diesels Bill). Worked the 461 lump hard , then in to the 100 line at Washington. Fish were being caught, but we just never ran over them. We'll get'em next time.

Bill, our most excitment of the day was when we trolled by a lobster ball that was way out deep. As we went by it, noticed a one inch dia. rope floating two feet under the surface. Bang, in our props befor we could pull em out of gear. Had a good "aqua ho" Richard on board. No fun watching a guy go under the boat in four fout swells. But he got it cut out and no damage. Glad we had a mask on board. Hope everyone with inboards carries one. We think the ball must have broken loose and was drifting in 600 fathoms.

Magic I've been there on the offshore gear wrap fun. Mask fins and undersea gear went on the boat in no time flat after that experience.

Yep - 23 SeaCraft. I liked the boat until I took it offshore. Now I LOVE it! She did pretty darn well.

still miss my 23' Seacraft despite almost sinking it. It had a 40 gallon aux tank under the hatch in front of the console giving it 180 gallons - needed every bit of it a couple times. twin 200 Mercs it would suck and scoot

I am looking into getting a bladder to hold an extra 50 gallons. That would put me at 185.

I have an old (1977) 23" seacraft ceptre, love it offshore, have a single 350 in her and hold 110gallons and have done 200 miles round trip out of rudee a few times and only burned around 70 gallons! cruises around 28kts. can't beat the ride those hulls give for a 23'er!

Thats a little hard to believe.....200 miles on 70 gallons with a 350 gas motor.....if thats true, you better not let that combo go and you damn sure better take care of the motor because thats a fluke.

My brother has a 23 foot Seacraft with a bracket on the back. I believe its the Classic Hull 2001. That boat has a nice ride. I was really impressed.

I have a 1977 Seacraft center console with a 351 ford inboard. My boat cruises at 21 knots at 3,100 rpms burning 11 gallons per hour. I love the boat.
