Went out on the contender friday with some friends and their boys. Started back in the nomini. Caught perch, spot, blues and rocks. All pretty small. But the boys had fun. One boy also hooked a fun 14 inch flatty. The tide was wrong but I like that location. A little too skinny for the 35' boat.
Used peelers

Went in search for bigger fish. Never really found many. Couple more spot and perch. Fueled up at coles. Ouch 3.29!?
Ran down to gas docks and played with breaking blues. They were very skittish and small. Called in a day and their boys swam off dock.

Had probs at some of my go to holes because of the drift. Too fast. Had trouble holding bottom w 7 oz. Friday had a decent breeze.

Went out friday night by myself on a newly rigged fishing kyak. Never got to try the peeler. 16 to 18 inch croaker hammered the squid. It was a fun paddle out and back too. Standard bottom rigs

Today, Sat am, went LTT byself in the little CC. Caught a nice 27 and 22 inch rock on bucktails in about 30 mins. . Already filleted and awaiting the grill for dinner tonight.

Going back out I'm sure...

Quick follow up:

Lots of fish everywhere. Went out sun am. Caught 20 rocks 16to 22 inches on bucktails. Went back for breakfast and filleted the fattest two.

Took my three kids and niece and nephew back after b-fast. They each got to reel in at least 2 each. Kept another couple fatties.

Dropped another crew off at STI and tried the bottom species sun evening. Spot were thick on a couple structures. Doubles on almost every drop. Bloodworms and standard rigs.

Looks to be a great summer fish wise

Sounds like the same action up the river around swan point. I posted pics in the Chesapeake Angler forum. We found the stripers around the blues. We found the blues by locating the Skates finning. It seemed like all the life in the river was gathered together in spots. Great fishing

Darrell couldn't keep it so I believe it reverted back to the old owners who either leased it to someone or having it run by others. They don't have beer yet but paperwork has been submitted so they should within a couple of weeks. Open til 8 PM on weekends and I believe 6 PM during the week.

Cole's had some bloods last week but I just used Fishbites and couldn't keep the spot off the hook.
