That depends on a lot of factors. What kind of burn rate does you boat get at what RPM? If you have a GPS, you can figure it out using your trip function to determine total distance and how many gallons of gas that you use. I get just over 2 miles to the gallon in my boat at 5200 RPMS or about 30 MPH. If the sea are really rough, the burn rate is higher because the motor has to work harder.

I was hoping to find someone that has the same boat as mine to compare it with
I repowered with the crusader 330 hp motor last year . at 3400 rpm's 25 mhp prop is a 16 x 14 lh three blade.
I have it that way for striper fishing on the troll. 2.5 mph .

:rockon:Gee, How about topping the tanks off, run two hours out and come back in, then fill the tanks back up and figure it out on your plotter the mileage? so were not stuck towing you back in because someone gave you wrong intel.

I have a Shamrock 270 with a 8.1 MPI - 496cid. Basically the same hull. In average seas I can run to the fingers, troll all day, run back and usually burn between 80 and 90 gallons.

I would do what Radonman said because that will be your best way to know for sure. You might cut want to cut the run time in half though.

If you don't have at least 1/3 of your fuel left when you're back at the dock, you have no business going offshore. I.e., if you have 100 gal capacity, your adventure should consume no more than 66 gal, unless you want to become a statistic.

He's asking how far offshore not if he could go offshore. I had a 25 with 350 mercruiser at 25mph I got just over 1 MPG that would give you 100 mile range max which would allow you safely to go out 30 miles troll for a couple hours and return with plenty of spare.

Like Radon says, not sure what your cruise speed is but if it will make it to 20-22 knots, I would run that rpm for 2 hours straight. refill and figure your fuel burn per hour. I would guess you wont do better than 2 gallons per hour trolling also.
